Wound care after an operation

Wound care after an operation

4. Burns

If you have a first degree burn, you will usually have received ointment and instructions from Dr Tariq. If you have a second or third degree burn, in the first 7 – 10 days you will usually have to come for daily dressing. Dressing is separate from the clinic appointments, and you do not need to register at the reception for these. You just have to notify the nurse that you have arrived, and the nurse will be able to see the instructions in the computer system.

Dr. Tariq will usually check the wound every 2 or 3 days, through appointments. When the first period (7 – 10 days) has passed, in most cases the daily dressing will end to. What happens after that varies from case to case, and you will be given your own individual wound regime by the doctor.
