Dr. Tariq Shadid was born, raised and educated in the Netherlands, and is of Palestinian origin. He studied Medicine at Leiden University, and then did a Research Fellowship at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Following that, he did his surgical residency at the University of Groningen. He practiced as a registered surgeon in the Netherlands from 2001 onwards. Then he moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2009, and has been working there ever since.
الدكتور طارق شديد استشاري الجراحه العامه من اصل فلسطيني ولد، و تعلم، و درس في اشهر جامعات هولندا، ثم استقر في الإمارات العربية المتحدة منذ سنة ال2009. د. طارق حصل على شهاده المجستير في الطب البشري من جامعة لايدن في هولندا، ثم اكمل البورد الهولندي ( التخصص بالجراحه العامه) في جامعة خرونينجن – هولندا. وفي فتره المجستير عمل ايضا في مجال البحوث العلمية في جامعة اوكسفورد البريطانيه. الدكتور شديد يعمل حاليا في مستشفى ميديكلينيك العين منذ ال 2017.
د. طارق شديد استشاري الجراحة العامة متخصص في الجراحة الباطنية و جراحة المنظار، و يتقن ايضا جراحة الفتق، و جراحة الثدي، و جميع انواع جراحة الشرج، و جراحة الدوالي. له ايضا خبرة طويلة في عمليات الختان. الجراحة العامة تضم ايضا استئصال الكتل و الاورام (الحميدة و الخبيثة) من جميع انحاء الجسم، و معالجة الإلتهابات.
د. طارق شديد يعتقد ان التواصل بالاحترام و التقدير مع المريض من اسس الجودة في الطب، و دائما يحاول ان يشرح للمريض عن حالته قبل ان يبداء بالإجرائات الجراحية. بلا شك ، التفاصايل التقنية مهمة جدا في الجراحة فهو يجتهد في الاداء الجراحي المحترف على اقصى المقاييس العالمية.
Since 2017, he has been working at Mediclinic Al Ain Hospital, as a Consultant General Surgeon.
General Surgery
As a General Surgeon, Dr. Tariq Shadid provides consultations and performs operations for a wide field of medical conditions.
He specializes in abdominal and laparoscopic (“keyhole”) surgery, oncological surgery, hernia surgery, breast surgery, proctology (hemorrhoids and other diseases of the anal region), and the treatment of varicose veins. He also has extensive experience in performing circumcisions on all ages. General surgeons can also be consulted for a wide variety of other health problems. Examples are infectious processes and (malignant and benign) lumps in almost all areas of the human body.
Other assets
Next to his medical activities, he is also active in various areas of medical governance. He is always keen on developing and improving the processes of health care.
He is fluent in Arabic, English and Dutch, and also speaks German and French.
Dr. Tariq Shadid is totally dedicated to providing a caring environment for his patients. He believes in a warm, open and friendly communication. He aims to always thoroughly inform his patients about their conditions, and the ins and outs of the proposed treatment.
Technical skills are of the greatest essence in surgery, and Dr. Shadid dedicates himself fully to performing top-level operations. However, he believes that proper communication is more than just the icing on the cake. In his view, communication is an essential part of providing proper health care.
